What to Pack for a Weekend of Riding? (and Why You Shouldn’t Miss the End of Season Weekender)

You’ve surely seen and heard us talking about the End of Season Weekend Event by now?

Let’s talk about what to pack, what to expect, and why this weekend isn’t just another ride out.

Whether you’ve only just started your riding journey or you’ve been clocking up miles for years, the RIDE End of Season Weekender (28–30 November) is built for you.

What to Pack for a Weekend of Riding

You don’t need to bring your whole garage with you — just the essentials that’ll keep you comfortable and ready to enjoy the ride.

Here’s our quick checklist:

Riding Essentials

  • Your full riding kit — helmet, jacket, trousers, gloves, boots

  • Waterproofs (we all know British weather can’t be trusted!)

  • Spare gloves or base layers if you like to swap out mid-day

  • Licence and insurance documents

  • A small first aid kit (we always have one too)

Bike Essentials

  • Check your tyres, lights, and fluids before you set off

  • Chain cleaned and lubed

  • Any small tools or kit you usually carry for peace of mind

Personal Bits

--- If you want to drop this with us in the week we will take it up there for you!---

  • Change of clothes for the evenings

  • Toiletries

  • A small towel or microfibre cloth

  • Snacks for the road if you like to nibble between stops

That’s it. Keep it simple — the weekend’s about riding, not packing!

Common Myths (and Why They’re Rubbish)

We’ve heard a few hesitations about the Weekender — so let’s clear a few up:

“It’s for advanced riders.” Nope. There are groups for every level — from newly qualified 125cc riders to experienced DAS and advanced riders. You’ll ride in a group that suits your pace, with instructors to help you progress confidently.

“I’ll just slow everyone down.” You won’t. That’s what our instructors are there for — to support, guide, and make sure everyone rides safely and comfortably. You’ll learn, not lag behind.

“It’s expensive for a weekend.” The price covers the full training weekend — and the accommodation and food are included in that. You’re paying for professional coaching, structured group rides, and an unforgettable experience — not just a room and a meal.

“I don’t know anyone.” Perfect. You’ll leave knowing a whole bunch of new faces who love bikes as much as you do. The evenings are relaxed, social, and full of good chat (and good food!).

“It’s November — what if it rains?” Then we’ll ride smarter. Wet-weather skills are part of being a well-rounded rider — and you’ll get the chance to build confidence in all conditions with expert guidance.

Why It’s Worth It

You’ll finish the season feeling more confident, more connected, and more capable than when you started.

You’ll learn from experienced instructors, ride new roads, and spend the weekend surrounded by people who get what riding means to you.

This isn’t a test or a challenge. It’s a celebration of the season, a learning experience, and a great way to end the year on a high.
